Packaging analysis
Jewellery-box-style rigid paperboard gift box in collaboration with couture designer Kévin Germanier. Near-square body fully wrapped in midnight-blue velvet paper, hand-embroidered with colourful sequins, gemstone-style beads and spangles (Germanier's signature upcycled bead-embroidery craft); a gold letter 'G' clasp set with crystals at the centre of the front. Top-opening flip lid with a full mirror inside the lid; inside, 25 individually numbered small drawers/paper boxes (black boxes with pink numerals). Once the drawers are removed, the box doubles as a reusable jewellery organiser.
Structure notes
This design shows embellishment as a production model, not a finish option. The midnight-blue velvet-paper body is hand-embroidered with sequins, gemstone-style beads and spangles in Kévin Germanier's upcycled idiom — which means a hand-finishing line, per-unit variation, and quality control that has to define acceptable variation before production starts, not after the first carton is rejected. Sequins also travel badly by default: shedding and abrasion against neighbouring units in a master carton are foreseeable, so individual protective wrapping is part of the structure's real cost. Inside, the engineering is calmer — a flip lid with a full mirror on its inner face and 25 numbered black drawers with pink numerals — but the mirror needs secure, cushioned mounting, because a detached mirror in transit ruins the box it was meant to elevate. Brands choosing this structure should cost the handwork honestly: it is the price of the couture claim, and the reusable jewellery-box second life depends on the lid and mirror surviving December.
